Outdoor Lighting Issues...SOLVED!!

I am a HUGE fan of a well-lit house. And while our new house had plenty of lighting options, they weren't in the...umm, best of conditions.

The lights as we found them.
Weather-beaten, rusted, and salty! Oh, my.

But through the magic of sanding, primer, and glossy spray paint we have...

All primer'd up and ready for action! 

Spray painted in all of its glossy glory! I'm beginning to think that I liked them white better!

After some plastic scrubbing, and bulb replacement...they were ready to be re-hung!

Like NEW! And it only cost me the price of 2 bulbs (as I have a constant collection of spray paint on hand)!

The BP...(big purchase)

Hiya.

We just bought a house. What?  Yes. A 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom in suburbia.

I can honestly (and without embarrassment) say that this photo was taken many many months ago. 

See all of that green grass? It's no longer green, more of a...umm...dead-ish brown color these days. 

Actually the only place there is green is in the cracks in the driveway and in the lovely green shag left behind from the 1970's. 

We got the key to the house on Thursday, and this Saturday is the first day we will actually get a chance to "play with our new toy" as the hubs says.

We're beyond excited for this new chapter in our lives.

We can both be pretty handy at times (well, as long as we have internet access), and I'm looking forward to changing things that should be green back to green, and removing the unwanted greenness elsewhere.
